Our adventure begins with a traditional Bedouin breakfast at the Katran camp, set on a plateau between two rocky peaks. Imagine this: before you lies the calm mirror of the Magic Lake, and in your hands — a steaming cup of fragrant tea.
After breakfast, we head into the heart of the Wadi El-Hitan reserve — a place that was once covered by a prehistoric ocean where giant whales lived millions of years ago. Their fossilized skeletons can still be seen today.
By evening, we'll set up camp in the desert itself. At sunset, near Whale Mountain, you'll relax, enjoy dinner by the fire, and then witness one of nature's most magical spectacles — 🌠 the Perseid meteor shower. At this time of year, the night sky bursts with dozens of shooting stars. We'll watch them together, with Bedouin songs and herbal tea by the fire.
For the night, you can choose: sleep in a tent, or under the open desert sky in your sleeping bag.
We'll start the morning with the breathtaking sunrise over the desert — golden-red rays lighting up the dunes, a memory that will stay with you forever.
After breakfast, we'll visit the Wadi El-Hitan Museum, where unique fossils are displayed and the story of the ancient ocean and climate change is told.
Next stop: the waterfalls of Wadi El-Rayan, where you'll have the chance to take stunning photos and learn about this unique desert oasis.
Finally, we'll visit the artisan village of Tunis, where local potters will show their craft. If you'd like, you can even make your own clay souvenir (optional, small fee). A perfect way to bring a piece of the trip home with you.
