Walking
Early departure from Dahab into the highlands of Saint Catherine — not to climb the mountains, but to explore their quiet valleys, ancient gardens and places where people have lived and prayed for centuries.
This is not a Mount Sinai climbing tour. We explore the valleys around Saint Catherine, visit the ancient monastery and discover the green side of Sinai hidden among the rocks.
One of the world's oldest continuously functioning monasteries and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See the Chapel of the Burning Bush, ancient icons and manuscripts, the historic mosque and peaceful gardens.
Walk through rocky gorges, old Bedouin settlements, stone terraces and mountain gardens. Depending on weather, season and current trail conditions, the route may include Wadi Arbaein, Wadi Itlah or other accessible valleys. The exact route is chosen with the local Bedouin guide according to conditions and the group's preferences.
Hidden oases among the mountains, with olives, figs, pomegranates, almonds, herbs and old stone terraces.
Food is optional and should be discussed in advance. Depending on the itinerary and group decision, we can have food cooked over a fire, stop at a local café, or bring snacks with us.
Several hours on rocky, uneven trails with some uphill/downhill sections. No summit climbing, but comfortable hiking shoes and reasonable fitness are required.
Entrance to the St. Catherine area / monastery is paid separately.
Comfortable shoes, water, hat, sunscreen, a warm jacket and your passport/ID.
6+ people: group price applies. Smaller groups — price discussed separately. Book by 19:00 the day before.
